2009 Update

Hello all. I know it's been a while since I have posted. Hubby and I needed to make some decisions.

We did another frozen embryo transfer on Nov 20th which ended up as another negative. Although we both really love Dr. Lavy, we just felt that something was being missed. After much discussion, and hearing my doctor say that he agrees something is wrong, but he doesn't know what, and he isn't sure what to test for - hubby and I decided it was time to get another opinion. It's nothing personal, I believe Dr. Lavy and his staff are doing everything within their power, but it's been 16 months with them and we're still in the same spot.

So - I had a phone consult with a doctor from SIRM (Sher Institute) in NYC. Our plan is to do another FET with them. The plan is to do more extensive blood work to test for immune disorders, clotting issues and the like. Then we will do a hysterscopy just to make sure everything looks A-ok in my uterus. The new doctor said he would make sure my uterus is an optimal environment before he places any more embryo's back in there. Considering we are down to 5 frosties left, I think that sounds great to me.

SIRM also does another type of treatment about a week before the transfer. They do an intralipid infusion. As the doctor explained it to me, basically it is vitamins that they put in your systems intravenously. It takes about 2 hours to complete and he's been having a great response with the women who have been treated. At this point, we'll try anything.

So keep your fingers crossed. Hopefully 2009 will be our year!

Love to all of you and best wishes for a Wonderful Year ahead!
